Facebook profiles of leading journalists and civil society activists have been blocked in Azerbaijan

Yesterday, in Azerbaijan, Facebook profiles of leading journalists and civil society activists have been blocked for unknown reasons, reports the Azerbaijani news portal "Haqqin.az."

As the portal reports, the profiles of Eynul Fatullayev, the head of "Haqqin.az", editor in chief of the newspaper "Yeni Musavat" Rauf Arifoglu, and the member of Public Chamber, General of Justice Vidadi Mirkamal were blocked in particular.

"Their personal pages were blocked by the Facebook administration for some unknown reasons. It is also possible that there were attempts to break these profiles," the material stated.

The site also notes that later the access to the personal pages has been restored as quickly as it had been lost. The cause of the incident has not been established yet.
