Defense Ministry: Azerbaijan does everything possible for Armenian servicemen to choose transfer to third country
At this moment, we have no information regarding the Armenian POW. Azeri media reported recently that he expressed willingness to be transferred to a third country, but currently there is no information about him, spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Panorama.am.
When asked about the official position of the Defense Ministry on the possibility of Hakob Injighulyan’s transfer to a third country, Hovhannisyan said, “We absolutely understand the wish of our servicemen to be transferred to a third country in view of the fact that Manvel Saribekyan was killed in Azeri captivity. Armenian POWs would rather be transferred to a third country than stay in such country like Azerbaijan. In any case, we see no problem about it, although we would prefer him to return to the homeland. However, Azerbaijan does everything possible for Armenian servicemen to choose transfer to a third country.”
