Echoes of the earthquake that took place today in Azerbaijan were felt in the Dagestani capital Makhachkala. The earthquake's magnitude is assessed at three or four on the Richter scale, as reported by the Main Office of Emergencies of Russia in Dagestan.

At the same time, abnormal seismic processes in Azerbaijan are now fading, says the director of the Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy
of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Telman Aliyev.

"We expected that an earthquake might take in the Zakataly-Ismaillin district. But we could not say specifically where and how hard it would be. Now the processes are fading," Trend reports him as saying.

of the joint project of the Institute of Cybernetics and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, the activity of abnormal seismic processes has been observed in the last 30 hours, Aliyev says, adding that despite the fact that as a result of the activity of seismic processes, an earthquake in Azerbaijan was expected, but its coordinates were not defined.

As VK previously reported, an earthquake occurred today in Baku at 16:06. Its epicenter was in the territory of Hajigabul region at a depth of 55 kilometers. Information about the victims and survivors of the earthquake has not been reported.
