Part of prisoners in Azerbaijan are pardoned

On March 17 the President signed a decree for pardon of approximately hundred political prisoners. Among them: Nida movement activists - Mohammed Azizov, Rashadat Akhundov and Rashad Hasanov;
Deputy Chairman of the party "Musavat" Tofig Yagublu and Yadigar Sadygly;
Human rights defenders Rasul Jafarov, Thale Khasmamedov, Anar Mammadli and Hilal Mammadov, Nemat Panahli – oppositionist, blogger Omar Mamedov, prisoner of conscience Siraj Kerimli. Former manager of the president Akif Muradverdiyev.
Total pardoned 148 people, including 137 people freed from the remaining terms of punishment, six people - from the remaining terms of the implementation of corrective labor, five persons are exempt from payment of fines.
