Dagestan delegation participates in first Russian congress of rural cooperatives

Makhachkala, April 3, 2013. St. Petersburg hosted the first Russian Congress of rural cooperatives. Representatives of agricultural cooperatives, consumer companies, audit unions of agricultural cooperatives from 80 Russian subjects, Finland, Germany and Belarus participated in the congress.

As to the press service of Dagestan Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Dagestan delegation including A. Magomedov, the chairman of the "Urkarakhsky" rural cooperative from Dakhadaevskii district, K. Dzhabrailov, the chairman of the "Novovirinsky" rural cooperative from Kayakentskii district, R. Mirzayev, the chairman of the "Darada-Murada" rural cooperative from Gergebil region, and others, was headed by Sharip Sharipov, the Interim Deputy Dagestan Minister of Agriculture and Food Supply.

"During various congress’ sections, participants discussed the development prospects of agricultural consumer service cooperatives, the role of audit unions in the work of the cooperatives, the role of cooperation in providing sustainable development of rural areas, the prospects for developing credit cooperation as a mediator between rural inhabitants and financial resources, and the state and development prospects of agricultural production cooperatives,"- the source said.

According to the source, at the session meetings involved discussions on major development issues. Participants also developed solutions to be discussed at the plenary session of the Congress chaired by Nikolai Fiodorov, Russian Minister of Agriculture.
