Daghestani designers ready to provide national costumes

Makhachkala, June 26, 2013. On June 25, Daghestani Centre of folk arts and crafts hosted a workshop on implementing the order of the acting Daghestani Leader Ramazan Abdulatipov to establish production of traditional Daghestani costumes and accessories.

 

The meeting brought together the Committee on Daghestan national arts and crafts, designers and manufacturers of costumes, heads of commercial enterprises engaged in production of accessories for traditional men's suits and jewelry to lady’s costumes, and national media reporters.

 

Participants noted that a lot of time had been wasted, everything had been ready to produce costumes a month and a half before, but no one had ordered a thing. Only recently they’d got orders from Daghestan ministries, departments and municipal administrations, but mostly men's suits were ordered.

 

The number of orders is increasing day by day, so the SUE "Makhachkala House of Personal Services" capable enough to produce sufficient amount of suits has joined the process of making costumes.

 

Participants also said they were sure they would be able to fulfill all orders, thus realizing the president’s assignment.
