Daghestani boxer Radzhab Butaev successfully starts at Universiade
Makhachkala, July 8, 2013. Daghestani boxer Radzhab Butaev has shown a successful start at the Universiade in Kazan, wrestdag.ru says.
On July 6, by a unanimous referee decision in the 1/8 final, Radzhab Butaev defeated another Daghestani, Azerbaijan’s Geybatullah Gadzhialiev who had won France’s Ladzhani Abdul-Malek in the first round.
Radzhab Butaev is a silver medalist of the Russian championships, a winner of the European Junior Championships -2011. The 19-year athlete is a trainee of the Shamil Umahanov Sports School in Khasavyurt. Monday, July 8, he will compete with Uzbekistan’s Sanjarbek Rakhmanov in the quarterfinal.
Another Russia’s Daghestani student boxer is heavyweight Magomed Omarov who is also to appear on the ring on Monday. The Kizilyurt’s European champion, a favorite of the tournament, will start in the quarterfinal with his opponent, Ukrainian Rostislav Archipenko.
