Relatives of Kochubekov, killed in Makhachkala, point to inconsistencies in power agents' data

According to Aisha Selimkhanova, an employee of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), relatives of Kochubek Kochubekov, who was killed in a shootout in Makhachkala, claim inconsistencies in the data released about the shootout by power agents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 23 in a shootout that burst out on Ubekin Highway two persons were shot dead; and three policemen were wounded. The casualties were Kochubek Kochubekov, 22, and Saadula Kuraev, 21.

On July 25, the DRPO "Pravozaschita" was addressed by Ragimat Arslanova, a resident of the Kayakent District and a relative of Kochubek Kochubekov, as Aisha Selimkhanova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"She has narrated the version of the incident, which is a bit at odds with the official statement. The fact is that on July 23 Kochubek Kochubekov called his wife Sadiyat Arslanova at 7:30 p.m., while the police had announced that the shooting occurred at 4:40," said Selimkhanova.

The investigating authorities of Dagestan have given no comment on the discrepancies in the time of the incident, referring to the fact that they rely on the data provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.
