Abdulatipov: Dagestan will be split into four districts with presidential envoys in each
According to Ramazan Abdulatipov, the Dagestani leader, it is planned to divide the republic into four territorial districts; each will be supervised by a plenipotentiary representative of the president of the republic.
Mr Abdulatipov has justified his decision to move to a new scheme of management by the fact that today the republic lacks clear curators of districts and cities, who would be regularly informing the leadership about the state of things.
"We plan to create four territorial districts; each will be headed by a plenipotentiary envoy of the President of Dagestan. In their turn, they will work together with the Prime Minister and the Parliament for weekly informing me about the situation in a particular area or city," The website of the President of Dagestan quotes Mr Abdulatipov as saying.
However, he did not specify any deadlines for the novelty.
