Anatoly Karibov, Deputy Premier, appointed Acting Premier of Dagestan

Anatoly Karibov, the First Deputy Prime Minister Dagestan, has been appointed to be the Acting Prime Minister after the Acting Head of the Republic Ramazan Abdulatipov dismissed the government for poor performance.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at today's sitting of the government Ramazan Abdulatipov announced his decision to dismiss the government.

It had been planned to discuss, at the extended sitting of the government, the socio-economic development of the republic in the first half of 2013. In his opening word Mr Abdulatipov stated that by all economic indicators Dagestan is in the very end among Russian regions; and among other bodies, this is the fault of the republic's government.

When commenting his decision to dismiss the government, Abdulatipov said that the inefficiency of the executive body was the reason. He urged the government to work as before until the new cabinet is formed, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
