Mufti of Dagestan: relations between Chechen and Dagestani peoples lack friendliness

Relations between the Chechen and Dagestani peoples are short of friendliness and fellowship. This was stated by Sheikh Akhmad-khadji afandi Abdullaev, Mufti of Dagestan, at the first interregional forum "Prospects for development of good-neighbourly relations between administrative divisions of the Russian Federation. Republic of Dagestan - Chechen Republic" held on November 29 in Makhachkala.
Mufti of Dagestan called on the audience to revive the warm relations between the Chechen and Dagestani peoples that used to form through the history. He has asked Dagestani youth to appreciate the peaceful life and referred to losses suffered by the Chechens as a result of the recent wars.
"The forum analyzed the current situation in Dagestan and recommendations on how to avoid a repetition of the history of the Chechen Republic," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Larisa Alieva, a forum participant from Dagestan.
"We discussed a lot of important and useful issues. This is a dialogue with the republic, which has already suffered the war and can consider the situation in our republic through the prism of its own tragedy," the forum participant has stated.
