Legendary Guus Hiddink to leave "Anzhi"
Dutch soccer coach Guus Hiddink is stepping down as head coach of Anzhi FC, according to the official website of the team.
"Today Guus Hiddink has met with the leadership of the club "Anzhi" and offered his resignation. Anzhi FC accepted the request of the head coach to terminate the employment relationship. The club sincerely thanks Guus Hiddink for his significant contributions and wishes him success in his future career," the statement reads.
"This decision was not easy for me, but I've always said that my mission with Anzhi will end when the club is able to develop and grow further without me," Hiddink said. "Now, this time has come. I am convinced a great future is awaiting the club, and I'm glad to have been part of this large-scale football project."
