Biyakai Magomedov: new Prime Minister of Dagestan not to claim the post of republic's leader

Abdusamad Gamidov, the new chairman of the government of Dagestan, has never "meddled in politics" and will not try to become the first person in the country, the lawyer Biyakai Magomedov, the former editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Chernovik," is sure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 25 the Deputies of the People's Assembly of Dagestan unanimously voted to approve the Finance Minister Abdusamad Gamidov as the chairman of the republic's government.

At this stage, Abdusamad Gamidov is the most suitable person, Biyakai Magomedov, said in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Gamidov neutral person who has never climbed into politics, got along with all the previous leaders of Dagestan," he added.

Residents of Dagestan differed in the comments to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on Gamidov's appointment.

"Over the years, I've never heard anything bad about him; Gamidov made no harsh statements; he was just doing his job," said Magomed Ismailov, a resident of Makhachkala.

"Why do only three nationalities take all the top management positions? It's time to evaluate officials by their professional skills, not nationalities," said Madina Abdulaeva.

Earlier, on condition of anonymity, one of the Deputies of the National Assembly told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Gamidov was nominated for the post of the prime minister solely on his ethnicity.

Let us remind you that according to the recent years' tradition, the posts of head of Dagestan, Prime Minister and Speaker of the Parliament have been held exclusively by three nationals – Avars, Dargins and Kumyks.
