Johar Tsarnaev's advocates ask court to mitigate his prison conditions
The defence of Johar Tsarnaev accused of the Boston terror act asks the court in the United States to soften his prison conditions. This was stated in the motion filed by the defendants' advocates.
According to the advocates' motion, conditions of Johar Tsarnaev's detention in a prison cell are "too tough". The defendant is kept in almost complete isolation: he spends most of the time in solitary confinement, with the exception of meetings with his advocates and short walks.
The defenders call such severe measures "illegal and unjustified." Moreover, the above limitations hinder adequate protection of the suspect at the trial, the "Associated Press" reports with reference to a request of Johar Tsarnaev's representatives.
Let us remind you that till October 31, the prosecutors are to make a decision on the requested form of punishment for Johar Tsarnaev. On September 23, the appropriate resolution was issued by George O'Toole, Federal Judge of Boston.
