According to the results of the preliminary investigation , the MNS has put forward a new charge against the arrested journalist Parviz Hashimli - Article 228.2.2 (repeated illegal possession of weapons). Turan was told by his lawyer Elchin Sadigov .

In particular, five months later, the investigation suddenly decided to incriminate Hashimov also illegal possession of weapons at home.

Earlier, the MNS claimed that Hashimli allegedly received from some Tavakkyul Gurbanov 5 guns smuggled from Iran for sale.

Then Hashimli was charged under articles 206.3.2 (smuggling by individuals in prior agreement ) and 228.2.1 (illegal possession of weapons by individuals in prior agreement ) .

Sadigov the lawyer called the new and the previous charge "illegal and politically motivated ."

The employee of the newspaper Bizim Yol and the head of the site moderator.az Hashimli was arrested on September 17, 2013 and accused of smuggling weapons in a preliminary conspiracy and illegal possession of weapons.

The journalist denied the accusations, saying that he was arrested on trumped-up and politically motivated charges. The reason for his arrest was his refusal to make incriminating statements against the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli.
