Nalchik: volunteers ask authorities to pay attention to situation with Syrian Circassians

The volunteers who render help to refugees from Syria have sent a letter to Yuri Kokov, the Acting Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), where they draw attention to the situation of Syrian Circassians.

The letter signed by volunteers Olga Begretova and Zara Bakova reads that currently there is no state approach to the accommodation of the Circassians, arriving from Syria: repatriates are facing many problems.

"First, they face problems at the Federal Migration Service (FMS), associated with the temporary residence permit and then the residence permit; therefore, they can't get a job in accordance with their profession and qualification. As a result, many of them have to agree to low-qualification temporary employment at minimum salary rate. Besides, the issue of teaching repatriates in the native and Russian languages is not settled, which greatly complicates and lengthens the process of adaptation," says the letter sent to the acting head of the KBR on January 28.
