R. Cekuta: One of the main topics of discussion is human rights and democracy
The cooperation between the US and Azerbaijan in the field of security and the fight against terrorism is developing successfully. The main topic of the agenda of the summit G20, at which participated the President of Azerbaijan was terrorism, its causes and ways of combating it, said the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta in an interview with reporters.
The commander of the US Navy visited Baku recently, and the visit of the Trade Mission is expected next week. The missions will focus on certain issues of economic cooperation, security and trade.
Asking the question from Turan about the fate of the bilateral commission for Democracy, reported by Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland in February in Baku, the ambassador said that the issues of democracy and human rights are constantly in the spotlight.
