Matthew Bryza: 'Meeting of Aliyev and Sargsyan did not produce results'

'The last meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents in Bern did not bring significant results, the tension between the parties continues to be high, in the framework of the meeting no new proposals to resolve the conflict were made,' said former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza.

On December 19, in Bern a meeting of presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia was held. The meeting was also attended by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and special representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office.

'But the positive thing is that the two heads of state still met, but to achieve substantive results they need help of the countries co-chairing the Minsk Group,' said Matthew Bryza.
