Another Group Of Eurovision Plotters Jailed In Azerbaijan
The Baku Court for Severe Crimes has sentenced the latest group of people for plotting terrorist attacks during last year's Eurovision Song Contest in Baku.
The chief editor of the Azadxeber.org online news portal, Nicat Aliyev, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on December 9.
Nine other defendants received prison terms ranging from four to nine years.
Last month, twenty-nine people were sentenced for the same crime, three of them receiving life in prison.
After the Eurovision contest last year, Azerbaijan's Security Ministry announced it had foiled a bid to stage attacks during the competition.
More than 40 suspects were arrested. Investigators say the group had links with neighboring Iran.
