Azerbaijan 116th in List of Happiest Countries

Baku/10.09.13/Turan : Azerbaijan took the 116th place in the ranking of the happiest countries in the world according to the UN report on ways to ensure sustainable development.

 

Happiest traditions remain on Scandinavia and the Benelux countries - Denmark , Norway , Switzerland , the Netherlands and Sweden . They occupied the rankings. In total, the ranking includes 150 countries. The compilation was attended by experts in the field of economics , psychology , statistics, and other fields of science. The rankings are based on indicators such as political freedom, social security system , and the absence of corruption. As the evaluation criteria the experts chose six factors : real GDP per capita, healthy life , the ability to rely on someone in the immediate environment , the subjective degree of freedom in making life decisions , protection from corruption, and generosity , said News.ru.

 

The top ten happiest countries are Canada , Finland , Austria , Iceland and Australia . In the second ten - Israel , the U.S. and New Zealand, Venezuela closing it.

 

Having neighbors in misfortune to be rich in energy resources, but prohibitively corrupt states, Azerbaijan is among countries such as Tajikistan , Botswana , Armenia , Mongolia , and Palestine . The short list of African countries includes Guinea , Tanzania , Rwanda , Burundi , Central African Republic, Benin and Togo.
