Makhachkala officials are suspected of fraud in providing housing to Amirov's relatives
Several officials from the Makhachkala administration are suspected of stealing 1.5 million roubles of budget funds. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, the suspects used forged documents to allocate the apartments built in the building of a kindergarten to relatives of the Mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Said Amirov, who was temporarily removed from the post of Mayor, is accused of involvement in the murder of the investigator and preparation of terror act in Dagestan.
In 2005-2007, two kindergartens were liquidated in Makhachkala with the idea to make flats there and deliver them, free of charge, to World War II veterans. However, according to the MIA, veterans received nothing, as bureaucrats from the city administration received bogus certificates of their title on the apartments.
After faking sale contracts on the apartments on behalf of veterans, the suspects legalized the real estate as the property of Said Amirov's family members.
The suspects in the case are the Head of the Housing and Utility Division of Makhachkala, the Chief Specialist of the Federal Reserve Service for Dagestan, a notary and other persons.
